We have the computer, networking, and installation expertise to help people remotely operate heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems by attaching an Internet enabled thermostat.

For people that just want to remotely turn a heating or cooling device on or off or to a higher setting, there are low cost ways to do so that do not require a new thermostat. Instead, we install switches that can be operated remotely — not only over the Internet but also with a telephone.

We also provide systems integration services. An example of systems integration is using your Internet enabled security alarm system to turn a heater on or off.

Remotely turning heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems on or off — or to a higher setting.

Remotely turning heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems on or off involves nothing more than enabling or disabling the related thermostat. To switch back and forth between high and low temperature settings, a second thermostat is installed that is set to the lower temperature. When the main thermostat is then turned off, the second thermostat takes over to produce the desired lower temperature.

For the necessary remotely operated switches, we use simple, reliable X10 technology that allows compatible electrical device control products to talk to each other using existing electrical powerline wiring. We then access this technology by sending a signal over the Internet or a telephone line to an X10 powerline controller that’s attached to a home’s electrical wiring. The X10 controller then turns our signal from the Internet or telephone line into an X10 signal that moves over the property’s electrical wiring to the switch that turns a thermostat on or off.
